Good News x 3: One Success, Two New Fundraisers!

DAY OF HOPE RESULTS!

The 2025-2026 Teen Board during February 8’s Day of Hope!

On Sunday, February 8th, the Caroline Symmes Children’s Cancer Endowment Teen Board’s fourth annual Day of Hope took place. Back in 2023, in honor of International Childhood Cancer Day, the teen board decided to have an event every February to raise donations to further research in order to contribute to their ongoing annual fundraising total.

The Teen Board members all came together at headquarters and contacted friends, family, co-workers, and businesses for donations that went towards each of their personal fundraising goals. Many friends and family joined us at headquarters to cheer on the teen board members, while also enjoying putting pies in the faces of some of the teens!

As donations came in, balloons were released and soon the headquarters
ceiling was filled with pink!

This year (and donations are still coming in) Day of Hope raised:

$44,054!

Congratulations on a job well done!

For the past few years, Day of Hope has also included the announcement of the organizations the Teen Board will be donating their year-long efforts to at the end of board year. This year after diligent research and interviews, they have decided to donate to
Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium along with donating to
Children’s Oncology Group for a second year in a row!

The Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium is a group of 50+ universities and children’s hospitals that offer a worldwide network of childhood cancer clinical trials. These trials are based on the research from a group of closely collaborating investigators who are linked with laboratory programs developing novel therapies for high-risk pediatric cancers. Their mission is to continue to use precision medicine and immunotherapy to bring forward new therapies for children with cancer with the goal of finding a cure for all patients.

The Children’s Oncology Group (COG) is the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research, with a mission to cure and prevent these diseases through scientific discovery and compassionate care. Supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), COG unites over 12,000 experts at 200+ institutions to conduct clinical trials.
